Evening Star 50th Anniversary First Day Covers
The last steam locomotive to be built by British Railways, 92220 Evening Star, celebrates her 50th birthday this year. So STEAM has teamed up with the UK’s leading producer of railway covers (collectors’ edition envelopes) to make an official Evening Star anniversary cover.
This is a limited edition, by one of Britain’s talented young railway cover designers, Isobel Fraser Underhill. It features the stunning artwork of legendary railway artist, Terence Cuneo and holds an exclusive NEW Evening Star medal, designed for the 50th anniversary. Each envelope is postmarked on the anniversary day at Swindon, where the famous locomotive was built. After the anniversary date, no more covers can be made.
