Visitors to STEAM – Museum of the Great Western Railway can now enjoy much more than a cake and cuppa when they take a break for refreshments.
A new café named Platform One has opened at STEAM.
Located on the first floor of the Grade II listed building, the new café will serve a selection of hot and cold meals and snacks – from burgers, hot sandwiches, sausages and chips and salads, to pastries, ice creams and home-made cakes. A variety of soft drinks, together with a selection of tea, coffee, hot chocolate and cappuccino will also be served.
Ian Surtees, STEAM Commercial Manager said: “The museum has become renowned for its high standards of customer service and we are thrilled to now extend the visitor experience to include a quality café.
“Visitors can now stay inside the museum when taking a break and we are sure they will enjoy the appetizing meals and snacks we have to offer. Our simple but delicious menu is based on freshly-made meals and snacks using top quality ingredients. As with everything we do at STEAM, we aim to give customers a high quality experience at value for money prices.”
Platform One Café can also take advance party bookings for events like children’s parties and traditional afternoon teas.
The café will be open every day during spring and summer, between 10.00 am and 4.00 pm.
